In a world ravaged by the First World War, marked by social injustice and where there was a teaching of submission and competition, they wanted to build a “school of the people”, combining everyday, and in learning them- same, empowerment and cooperation. Throughout their lives, they have deepened their project, specifying their analyzes and developing new “techniques”. They did it in a movement, in relation to many school teachers, in France and in the world.

They did it with will make teachers genuine educational actors, able to prepare their students a more cohesive society. Since then, many educational activists have tirelessly continued this work, faithful to the principles of Freinet but always inventive in their implementation. They are the source of this Dictionary.

A dictionary and not a dogmatic treatise, with over 150 definitions associated with proposals and examples, in which one can navigate to enrich its thinking and its methodological range. Each article is illustrated with classroom practices. This essential book is a toolkit to think and act today, in a world where the “Freinet pedagogy” is more relevant than ever.

For as it did a century ago, the choice is now between a school where we learn to submit and education where you learn to free, between a school between the elected and the excluded school where they work to succeed together. Attachment Size Order Dictionary of Freinet ) 242.12 Kb Add comment
